Meet The First Gay Black Men To Go To Congress

Mondaire Jones and Ritchie Torres Are Making History!

In the latest episode of #FunnyMoneyRockLive the hosts discussed the history breaking campaigns of two new york city politicians who are breaking down boundaries to become the first openly black gay men elected to federal office.

Mondaire Jones (right) and Ritchie Torres (left) are members of what is starting to look like the second coming of "the quad" the dynamic and diverse freshman class the brought us Alexandra Ocasio Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, and others. This year Jones and Torres will be joined by Cori Bush a community organizer who has real grassroots cred with organizations like BlackLivesMatter.

#FunnyMoneyRock host Anye Elite wondered if Ritchie Torres has been getting more press coverage for his historic win than Jones because of his lighter complexion.
