Anyone with information is asked to contact Toledo Police.
Missing in Color exists because when Black and brown people go missing, the public urgency isn't the same. Their cases fade faster. Leads get quieter. Coverage dries up.
This series is meant to interrupt that silence.
And I want to be transparent about the origin of that commitment:
My own mother, Robin Monique Ellis, went missing. There are still unanswered questions. There is still uncertainty. There are still days when answers feel very far away.
Because of that lived experience, I understand the specific kind of waiting that families like Erlinda’s are going through — the waiting that sits in your body, your sleep, your chest. The waiting that doesn’t end just because the world moves on.
