Marvel Getting Ready To Feature Black Gay Romance

Atlanta's & Black Panther's Brian Tyree will play the role.

The Marvel universe is getting a gay kiss: Atlanta’s Brian Tyree Henry plays Phastos in The Eternals, and he reportedly gets not only a gay kiss but also a child and husband, played by Haaz Sleiman, pictured below.

Some folks might freak over a brown and black gay couple making out in their superhero film. Luckily, they will probably be focused on the presidential election, as the movie comes out that same week.

Why This Is Important

Even though it may seem like a little thing to many adults; imagine how the future will be changed by seeing healthy reputations of queer men on the big screen. I bet you can probably still remember your favorite cartoon or tv hero growing up.

Who Is Phastos?

If you're not a marvel aficionado fear not. We got you covered. We didn't know who he was either. Here's the main takeaways:

  • He's in charge of the all the techonology for his super-hero squad "The Eternals" (kinda like X-men we think but comic boys don't beat us up)

  • Unlike many comic heroes and villains he's a pacifist

  • He wasn't gay in the original comments

  • He'll be played by Brian Henry
