NBC's rips latest episode from the headlines.
NBC's long running procedural drama "Law & Order: SVU" is no stranger to using popular news story as inspiration for adventures of the fictional NYPD's sexual victims unit. However, Icon City viewers may be interested to note that they will be featuring the story of popular and openly gay actor Jussie Smollett who was charged last year with staging an elaborate hoax.

Jussie Smollett Case Will Likely Play Out Over 2020 Election
Also there was an attempt to get the prosecutor dismissed; but the judge said no.
As it stands currently the investigation into the alleged hate crime hoax, committed by Jussie Smollett is on track to reach yet another media climax in the middle of the 2020 presidential election. Last week a Chicago judge ruled to keep special prosecutor Dan Webb on the case despite a campaign to have him removed.
Luckily for Smollett although he is yet again at risk of facing jail time; most of the public outrage is being directed at Dana Foxx, the prosecutor who dropped the charges. In fact that campaign to oust Dan Webb came from people who were concerned that Webb's previous political donations to Foxx were reason for a conflict of interest.
With the case proceeding again, regardless of what the prosecutor decides this will be fodder for the cultural war.

Jussie's Attackers Revealed; Not White But...Fine A.F
Breaking: The two on the right above have been arrested by Chicago police and charged with battery. People don't know what to make of these recent revelations considering that the Empire star is on record as identifying his alleged assailants as caucasian Trump supporters. What are we gonna do fam?

CNN anchor Don Lemon kept it 100% when he sat down for Jada Pinket Smith's Red Table show on facebook. On it he talked about how he calls Jussie Smollet everyday and, dished on his experiences as a black gay man
Last month Empire star Jussie Smollett was attacked by Donald Trump supporters in Chicago. After an initial wave of support; some are taking to social media to express skepticism at the singer's claims.
There are number of conspiracy theories floating around out there. Many of them circle around Jussie's love life. Comedian and internet web host "TJ The Chicago Kid" took to twitter to pen a long tirade accusing the Smollett of being lured out onto the streets of Chicago by predators on a gay dating site like Grindr or Jack'd.
Although TJ doesn't appear to know Jussie or have any insider information on the ongoing investigation. He believe his status as a Chicago native gives him expertise to weigh in. Supporters of Jussie Smollett were quick to deem the Chicago kids's speculation harsh and inaccurate. Still other's began offering theories of their own. Allegedly another Chicago native Milan Christopher is also skeptical. Milan's input is notable as both he and Smollett are black openly gay personalities.
