Gay Man Robbed In Hotel By Grindr Date

It happens more often than you may think.

Two weeks ago a 33-year-old man was violently held at gunpoint by someone he connected with on Grindr. Perpetrators often use dating apps in general but also Grindr specifically to lure black gay men into dangerous situations.

The attacker pistol-whipped the victim almost immediately upon entering a room at the Sheraton Four Point in NYC.

Since this occurs so frequently we decided to maintain this article as a live feed of similar circumstances including Grindr and start the #grindrcrimes tag. Not to suggest wrongdoing on the part of any particular platform. Rather our intention is to keep our readers armed with information that will help them make safe decisions.
