And what that says about gays in hip-hop.

Two of the most influential artists were associated with the Camp Flog festival last night. So what the problem with replacing one for another? Well Tyler The Creator and his fellow festival organizers learned today.

It all started when Tyler The Creator released a flyer teasing a special guest headliner. Most people expected it to be Frank Ocean as the “DHL” singer has been making more public appearances than usual. Unfortunately when “Scorpion” rapper Drake showed up instead the crowd just wasn’t feeling it. See for yourself below:

It’s kind of an excellent commentary on the changing attitudes of the hip-hop community. Just think about it. Drake is literally one of the biggest stars in the world with more Billboard Hot 100 entries than any other artist in history. Contrast that with the elusive and openly gay Frank Ocean. Years ago you would assume that the booing would of went down in reverse.

Of course Frank transcends sexuality and the Camp Flognaw group are pretty much an emo / non-conforming match made in heaven. Nonetheless, Tyler The Creator took to social media to offer up an apology of sorts, while lightly complaining that the concert goers had embarassed him in front of Drake.

Luckily for Aubrey Graham it looks like’s he getting the last laugh, as usual. Remember the Meek Mill and Pusha T beefs? Dude always bounces back. Drake announced yesterday that he signed an agreement to perform at Camp Flog Naw for the next 10 years? Here’s hoping the the fan will be a little warmer once they know he’s coming.
