Cuban Officials Violently End Gay Pride Event

According to numerous news outlets the international 2019 gay pride season is not out to a great start. In Cuba, communist leaders sent police to violently disperse a group of 300 people in Havana for a gay pride march.

Photo's from the event show Ariel Ruiz Urquiola being carried away by plain clothes police government agents. Ironically it is alleged the LGBT people are often placed in the same Labor camps as Christians and other groups targeted by the Castro regime.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the people injured physically and emotionally. It's hard to lead any kind of economic protest against the country as we are already engaged in a trade embargo with Cuba. Still I wonder if this will this flashpoint be remember similar to Stonewall. We hope their liberation comes soon.
