Alabama Bans PBS Cartoon With Gay Wedding

Officials at Alabama's public broadcasting has banned an episode of kid's show "Arthur" because it features a gay marriage. Of course we're not surprised that something like this would come out of Alabama , but we thought they'd be more preoccupied with taking away a women's right to choose. It just goes to show you that backwards thinking can in fact, walk and check bubble gum at the same time.

Mike McKenzie is the programming director for 'bama public television. Although he believes the story line conveyed a positive message he felt that he would be taking away the right of parents to make the decision on what is appropriate for their children to watch.

All of this hoopla might be for a bunch of nothing as the episode in question does not actually address sexuality or depict a gay marriage. It seems like the mere insinuation was enough.
