Virginia Elects Country's First Openly Trans State Rep.

Go girl it's your birthday, we gonna party like it's your birthday!

For anyone who has lost faith in U.S. politics last November, look no further than the lovely state of Virginia. Danica Roem of Manassas, VA makes history after unseating the locality's republican rep.

The contest was one of dozens where Democrats were trying to gain ground in the Republican-led General Assembly, backed by a increase in anti-Trump sentiment among Democrats and independents and hoping to provide an example for the nation of how to run in opposition to the unpopular president.

Congrats!
