Earlier this year openly gay rapper and social commentator released his debut album "No Faux" after the lead single "Yass Lawt" went viral the previous year. Fans and critics have complimented Elites gay affirming lyrics and radio friendly production. Spotify even included the album's title track on their official year end list. Now for the first time Anye is sharing behind the scenes footage of the albums creation. The 20 min video is both uplifting and dark as Elite splices studio footage with hard to watch images from L.A.'s skid row and last month's Charleston protest. After a few minute it becomes clear that Anye Elite's No Faux is half love story and half commentary on the political and social state of America. Check it out below:

When I heard that Netflix was doing a show about life inside a medical marijuana dispensary I was hella excited!  Then, I found out that Kathy Bates was the lead which was also surprising because I wasn't sure that I was going to see much of her after American Horrow Story. Personally I think the show is hilarious I think that is great that most of the other characters are played by relatively unknown actors.  What makes the show most interesting however is its ability to keep the attention of the notoriously ADD afflicted marijuana user.  The critics are currently slamming the project and I don't think that the preview does it justice so if you can try and set aside some time to watch a full episode.  Still if you want to see what your getting into check out the preview here.

Music streaming giant Spotify is celebrating Pride by highlighting top rappers from the LGBT community. On Thursday they revealed their "Work It, Own It" playlist with the following description. "It doesn't get any realer- queer hip-hop artist are finding their own ferocious flow and spittin their truths, harder than ever, for pride." The list features leaders in the gay hip hop scene including Young M.A, Frank Ocean, Cakez Da Killa,, Siyah, and Icon City''s very own Anye Elite who new album "No Faux" is in stores now.
