#AsiansForBlackLives?

For the second morning in a row I was awoken by another story of a white police officer shooting African-American men. Even though I'd expect myself to be numb by this point, this sort of violence is a pretty frequent occurrence nowadays. As I scrolled through the #blacklivesmatter feed on Instagram I found solidarity from an unexpected source.

The picture above was the first thing to make me smile all day. As a black man sometimes it really feels like the whole world is against us. Let's face it I've been so busy mourning consider how other communities are reacting to this endless hashtag curation of state sanctioned homicides. It turns out many asian american are just as disgusted as many African-American. It does turn out this support is also fueled by what some see as an obligation to repay a moral debt.

I know Drake said no new friends but I'm making an exception! Thanks!
